Sarvar
is a
small city situated in the west part of Hungary, close to Lake
Balaton and Austrian border. Sárvár is rich in cultural heritage and natural
beauty.
Most important is the Nádasdy castle dating back to Middle Ages.
Its white spire, arching bridge and perpendicular internal court are all unique
features of the Renaissance castle flanked by trees planted in the moat. The
arboretum near the castle has several rarities including over 350 species of
trees and bushes.
The other important sight is the thermal bath of
Sárvár. Healing water springs from depth of 1200meters and reaches 43 degree
celsius. While the other thermal water comes from a depth of 2000meters, and
reaches up to 83 degree celsius and very salty.
From the 83 °C rich saline
water, the famous Sarvar crystal is produced through the process of evaporation.
This salt abundant medicinal healing water can be used effectively in the
treatment of certain ailments and locomotive diseases as well as for dermatology
and gynaecology.
The 43 °C thermal water contains alkaline hydrogen
carbonates and is especially suitable for the treatment of locomotive disorders,
rehabilitative after-treatment ( including sport injuries), neurological
complaints and muscle relaxing baths.
The Rába river, the lakes around
the city, the beautiful parks, and green woods are ideal places to relax, short
or longer walks, biking, horse riding. The Rába river give you the opportunity
to take canoeing tours.
From spring to autumn the city offers rich
cultural programs, such as folklor festival, brass band festival and historic
days.
The Pannon Ring car and motor racing circuit is only 6kms off
Sárvár.
