Hungary is a nice, friendly place to visit. Of course there are some good to know rules as everywhere.

Normally there are no big crimes, but there can be pickpockets or highpriced taxis, highpriced bars!
Be careful! on trains, trams, city mass transit, train and bus stations there may be pickpockets! Do not leave your belongings unattended, keep your money and passport in safe place!

Do not enter taxis in midnight, near or at the enter of any nightclub, bar! Always call a taxi, never take one on street.

Do not eat or drink in nightbars before you saw the menu and pricelist. For safe bars please contact us and we will be happy to help you

ATM and money change
You can get money out of any bank ATM. See one near you!
Hungarian banks and official changes can change your money.
Do not change your money on street, does not worth the risk!
Banks has english speaking clerks usually, but changing can be expensive. Get Hungarian Forints from ATM, usually cheaper than from the bank.

How to go around, by public/mass transport or by taxis?
If you have time to visit Hungary and would like to spend a few days discovering, we advise you to take public transport in cities and trains/coaches on intercity routes. Cheaper than taxis and give you more personal experience. Bigger hungarian cities has good public transport system, as well as Budapest, and you can access to all locations by trains/coaches.
Check timetables, schedules, and we tried to collect local infos at every city's page.
