Meat Jelly Festival, Miskolc

Meat Jelly Festival's became a traditional event in Miskolc as it's gonna be the 10th in a row. It is organized around gastronomy, as the meat jelly is a well known winterish type of food in Hungary. The mean jelly is like a cold meat soup, but as it cooked with bones, the soup become jelly when cold.
The festival is a contest as well as many different type of meat jellys available so taste the best.
Downtown of Miskolc, the main street and the surrounding streets and squares will be loaded with meat jelly sellers, as well as hungarian style hurka and sausages, mulled wine, sweets, souvenirs, hand made crafts, etc.
Cultural programs include a travel back in time. Organizers would like to make the gastronomy event even more fantastic with a timeswap into the past, so you will be able to taste dishes from the time of knights and kings.

How to make meat jelly?
1.5Kg meat, like pork head, feet
1 carrot
1 onion
salt
pepper
Clean the meat with pure water, than put into a large bowl with the vegetables, pepper. Fill the bowl with water and let it cook. Salt lightly. Cook it in a very gentle way for 3-4hours till the meat fallen of the bones. Once its ok, take out the meat/bones and let the soup cold out. Remove the fat from the top. Put the meat in a plate and pour the cold soup on top slowly and put into a cold place (not fridge, but near window, or similar). Let them work together for a day and when the soup became jelly its done! Jo etvagyat!
