The 700 year-old castle on a 300 metre high hilltop is merely a heap of stones today,
but for the encompassing view over the Mátra Mountains it is worth taking the
tour to the castle of Sirok. The two interesting rock formations near the place
are called "the monk" and "the nun". It is also interesting to see the cave
homes carved into the rhyolite tufa along the main street of the village, which
were once so common in the villages of the Bükk Mountains.
