How to get to Keszthely
By train: from Budapest take an Intercity train from the Deli (southern) train station (last stop on the red underground line) or a slow train. By Intercity it is 3hours 40mins. cost around 6000HUF for a return fullfare.

By car: from Budapest just follow the M7 after szekesfehervar take exit to Balatonfured.
By bus from gyor/sopron you can come by bus
If you are coming from cities like Gyor,Sopron, you better go to Budapest first than to Keszthely no matter if you come by train or by car.
