National Gallop 2009

The National Gallop is a celebration of Hungarian town and villages. The National Gallop is a riding competition with a historic theme and is based on Hungarian traditions, making it a national cultural event of a dual aim: preserving old traditions and creating new ones. The centre of the events is the historical gallop race in which Hungarian settlements can enter and compete against each other. Between the races Hungarian history of war and horse riding will be revived by a spectacular show, including processions and historical parades.

Pannon National Wine Assembly Wine Festival 2009

Located: City Park and surroundings, Budapest

Festival of top wine and top winemakers, free-of-charge programmes. Wonders of Hungarian gastronomy with a real market feel. The festival starts at 11.00 on Friday and closes at 24.00 on Friday and Saturday and at 23.00 on Sunday. In addition to the wine tasting gipsy music, folk music, dance music and a market fair await those interested – programmes are free of charge.

Haydn Year 2009

In connection with the 200th Jubilee year we are trying to show the life and work of the Austrian composer, who is linked to Hungary in many ways, from as many aspects as possible, to make sure that the unique concert experience of 'the father of the symphony' and 'the inventor of the string quartet' is not only enjoyed by music lovers but wider audiences as well, providing an opportunity for everybody to form their own image of Haydn.
